
Luca Lo Pinto
Luca Lo Pinto (b. 1981), the artistic director of MACRO – Museo d’arte contemporanea di Roma, was the curator of Kunsthalle Wien from 2014 to 2019 and is a co-founder of NERO magazine and publisher. At Kunsthalle Wien he organized the solo shows of Nathalie du Pasquier, Camille Henrot, Olaf Nicolai, Pierre Bismuth, Babette Mangolte, Gelatin/Liam Gillick, Charlemagne Palestine, and the collectives Time is Thirsty, Publishing as an artistic toolbox 1989-2017, More than just words, Individual Stories and Function Follows Vision, Vision Follows Reality. He has curated numerous other exhibitions, including Luca Vitone – Io, Luca (PAC); XVI Quadriennale d'Arte (Palazzo delle Esposizioni); Le Regole del gioco (Fondazione Achille Castiglioni); Trapped in the Closet (FRAC Champagne Ardenne); Antigrazioso (Palais de Toyko); Luigi Ontani-AnderSennoSogno (Museo H.C. Andersen); D’après Giorgio (Fondazione De Chirico) and Conversation Pieces (Mario Praz Museum). His essays have been published in many catalogues and international magazines and he has edited books on artists such as Olaf Nicolai, Babette Mangolte, Luigi Ontani, Emilio Prini, Alexandre Singh, and Mario Garcia Torres. In 2012 he curated the book Documenta 1955-2012, and in 2014 he launched the publishing project 2014, conceived as a time capsule.
