micro//macro

Dates: 1-2-3 February 2019 from 12 to 6 p.m.
Location: Service Centre
Duration: 30 min
Schedule: drop-in laboratory

Like the telescope, the microscope is a symbol of scientific knowledge. Both allow us to observe “realities” that would otherwise be inaccessible to the human eye. Yet, what we see under the microscope is not “reality”. Like photography, what we see is just one of the possible representations that help us understand the world around us.
Scientific, technological and artistic tools allow participants to observe the microworld. A drop of water expands to become a map of a wider world in a visual artistic experience in which biological elements take on different shapes, colours and sounds in response to how observers apply their tools of observation.
